When one is dozing off but refuses to admit they are falling asleep

Dude: "Hey, you're falling asleep. Give me the remote!"

Homie: "I'm not falling asleep! (zzzz..snoooore..zzzz)"

Dude: "You're in sleep denial, homie."

sleep denial

When you wake up hours before you need to so you lay in bed pretending to be asleep without any of the actual benefits of sleeping.

I woke up like two hours before i usually do so i just laid in bed for a while, I was in total sleep denial.
