Rhetorical question

Question asked that is asked for effect and not usually designed for an answer.

Usually encourages the person or people being asked the question to reflect upon their own thoughts and beliefs rather than answer specifically out loud.
Examples of rhetorical questions-
Speaker: "What defense to the homeless have if the government will not protect them?"

Guy: "Did you get some from her last night?"
Other Guy: "Is the sky blue?"

Office Worker: "How stupid is this new filing system we have?"

retardical question

A play on the phrase rhetorical question, a retardical question is a question so stupid, it leaves the people being asked speechless, and unable to answer with even a sarcastic response. A retardical question has such stupefying power,it can leave an entire room in a confused daze, and, in written form, can kill as many brain cells as aerosol or a Miley Cyrus song.
Dude 1: What did you put in answer for number 9?

Dude 2: You mean "name something flat? I put pancakes, tortillas, Earth....
Dude 1: Wait what?! Earth?
Dude 2: Yeah it's flat right? That's what people say.

Dude 1 is so stunned by this retardical question he is unable to speak, or move, and has to be taken to the school nurse.

Rhetorical Question

A question asked in which one already knows the answer to not expecting reply; simply to be a dick, to annoy you, or for some other odd reason.
"Why'd you get me pregnant Jonny?"
"I thought you loved children?!"
"I do! I just wanted to make sure you remembered.(:"
"You're a crazy hoe, I'm out! Call me when you need child support. Better yet, I'll give you a booty call within the week."

Now you see, the moral of the story is never to ask rhetorical questions.
