An old school gamer term to describe simple combos (Punch Punch Kick) that sometimes were easy to chain together. Sometimes these were the core strategy of the character, and would be the initial three hits to a 5, 7, or 10 hit combo.

Games like Tekken 2 and 3, Virtua Fighter 2, DOA 1 and 2, and Killer Instinct were notorious for featuring simple short combos with a launch feature which could be strung together for the sole purpose of channeling your victim's rage.

These combos were all easily avoided by a well-timed crouch and low punish or sweep, but none of us were old enough to figure that out yet.

In 1996, Cracked Magazine ripped on Killer Instinct--issue 306. In the magazine there was a boxer which resembled Tyler-Johnson Garrett called "PPKombo". The spoof character's boxing gloves were shown to conceal firearms. The name was a joke meant to reference this style of cheap AF gameplay.
