A computer patching strategy that is was invented to maximize the likelihood of outages, infuriate end-users, and disrupt the work/life balance of system administrators. This strategy is usually conceived by company executives as a knee-jerk reaction to some longstanding but previously-unknown threat, and with no input from (or regard for) the sysadmins responsible for implementing it.
