in a 180 degree reality from current definitions, "on ice" refers to someone whos been killed, wacked, snuffed out, murdered, etc., the association being how dead bodies used to be stored on a block of dry ice at the morgue to keep them from rapidly rotting before the days of capable air conditioning systems.
"yo man u seen Hector anywhere, i need to score some blow"
"bitch, that foo's been on ice for a week after the drive-by on 180th st."

A level of coolness that far surpasses the norm. May apply to a person or an event as the situation dictates.
Antonym: "melted".
An action which creates awkwardness, tension, or in any way decreases the coolness quotient of a given situation can be said to be "melting the ice". Many variants can expand the concept, such as "frostbite" or "permafrost", but take care that variations not be contrived or forced, lest you melt the very ice to which you are seeking to refer.
