Short for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Based in the United States, they utilize satellites, plane-mounted instruments, and scientific research ships to study the patterns that the oceans and atmosphere experience, often recording their data for other scientists, and sometimes
even regular
people, to view. They also do their best to conserve the ecosystems of the oceans.
When I went to the
Aquarium this
weekend, a representative from NOAA was there, and I got to
learn about the weather patterns in my area.
