It usually occurs when you are trying to expose someone's inability to perform a certain action because you are already aware that he/she can't get it right.
You are giving a mind test when you give a flimsy excuse and ask someone that has never driven a car to take your car key and drive you back home.You have already known the answer before asking that person to drive you home.
