mari lwyd
a christmas tradition carried out through centuries in south wales where they stick a horse's skull to the end of a pole. they then decorate the skull, put a person behind it, cover both with a sheet, and name it mari lwyd. mari lwyd and a group of people called its "caretakers" then go house-to-house singing a song about wanting to come into their home. the owners of the house are then expected to sing back with excuses on why they don't want the monstrosity entering their home. this continues until mari lwyd gives up or the home owner allows them inside. if mari lwyd is allowed inside, it and its caretakers raid your pantry and drink all your beer.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
