An alternative to the traditionally used term "lesbian" to describe a woman who is attracted exclusively to other women. The term originated in the Friends episode entitled "The One With Monica's Boots" by Jack Sumner, who is Sting's fictional son.

When a lesbian changes their name or the spelling of their name to sound more gay. Derived from the term "exonym", meaning a name given to someone by someone else.
"Oh her? Yeah no it's not Samantha anymore it's just Sam. Yeah I think it's her Lesbonym."
