klaggenschnot

Thick sticky phlegm. Forms an amalgam with mucous that clags up nasal passages. Thus difficult to expectorate and clear. Usually green or brown in colour. Opposite of rhinorrhoea. Typically occurs in late phase of upper respiratory tract infection. The most common cause of "a bunged-up nose". Associated with maxillo-facial pain and sinusitis.
He had a rotten cold and was bunged up with klaggenschnot.
