Citizen journalism, also known as collaborative media,1:61 participatory journalism,citation needed democratic journalism,2 guerrilla journalism3 or street journalism,4 is based upon public citizens "playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing, and disseminating news and information."5 Similarly, Courtney C. Radsch defines citizen journalism "as an alternative and activist form of news gathering and reporting that functions outside mainstream media institutions, often as a response to shortcomings in the professional journalistic field, that uses similar journalistic practices but is driven by different objectives and ideals and relies on alternative sources of legitimacy than traditional or mainstream journalism".
Mainstream media is a joke! I trust citizen journalism. I mean essentially all journalism starts as citizen journalism anyway.

A book handmade from memorabilia/ephemera/ photos/out of recycled or vintage material significant or visually appealing to the intended owner. It contains non plain factory made machine STRAIGHT EDGE pages instead, hand processed materials & trimmed & embellished papers made to look torn/tattered /dyed/ pre-owed/embellish by hand. Often composed with non traditional book materials as fabric/ tissue paper/vellum/ transparencies/ ribbons/ lace/ tulle/plastics or"throw away/ junk"/material. A hybrid book of an artist's journal/ scrapbook/ photo album/ personal diary. The appeal of the book lies in the WORN handmade of the book, & the unique factor that EVERY page is unique and ONE OF IT's Kind & no two pages are alike. To qualify as a junk journal, the books themselves must be UNIQUE, handmade or one of it's kind(hand-altered store bought books also qualifies) . Each book itself CANNOT be replicated in it's exact ENTIRTY( ex: handdyed tye dyed pages, collaged pages, tickets to an old event, discontinued paper products, etc). To qualify as a junk journal, the majority of the pages must be one of a kind, each junk journal itself must be one of a kind & the overall looks MUST BE handmade/unique/tattered/grungy in nature. It often serves as a nostagic rememberance/keepsake album for the intended owner & contains space allowances/ room for the intended owner to add & contribute to the personalized book.

This term is a criticism of modern journalism. It references to "yellow journalism" - a term used for the sensationalistic journalism during the turn of the 20th century. The green refers to money and the greed of the industry and/or the pro-environmental bias.
Often as sensationalistic as its yellow predecessor, green journalism tends to appeal to our emotions, exploit our fears, and pander to our vanity. It places a political agenda in front of the quest for journalistic truth and in its most demagogic forms tolerates no criticism, branding all who question it as enemies of the people.

A post-modern literary genre, involving sub-standard, pseudo-journalistic articles, typically found on internet sites such as Yahoo's homepage.
The genre was created when random, non-researched and throw-away lifestyle articles, such as the example below, were posted in the same internet space as serious, often tragic, news stories. Here, the element of sensationalism normally found in pulp literature is often subdued in an attempt to feign scientific validity, though it can often be found in such instances as advising against shagging the milkam, as in the example below.
This uncanny juxtaposition of pseudo-scientific life-style articles and serious journalism led to the coining of the phrase "pulp-journalism" to indicate how these lifestyle articles were infiltrating a space normally reserved for serious writing.

Lies and/or propaganda which are passed off as legitimate journalism, though they favor one political party or viewpoint.
The NNN (Nazi News Network-another term for the Fox News Channel) believes that Michael Moore's work is yellow journalism.
