Richard Hurlburt resigned after admitting to installing a generator and big screen TV in his house using his government expense account.

To be led to believe you will get something at a job (usually a bonus, raise, promotion..), but get the rug pulled out from under you last minute.

-You work O.T. all month for the promised labor bonus, but not told til the 28th day you didn't fill out a form right on the 2nd day, so there'd be no bonus. Your co-worker says, "Damn, you've been hurlbutted."
