Hippie Speedball is a
Seattle based psychedelic alternative rock band formed in 2001 by singer/guitarist Bill Bartel & bassist Steve Marchetti. Shortly after recording a demo CD in 2001, drummer, Nick
Thomas joined the band, along with Mark Stein on rythm guitar. After playing a few years as a
4 piece and writing new, more complex material, a 2nd rythm guitarist was added,
Bryant Porter, who was later replaced by Troy Hewitt in late 2009. The bands self-produced first full length CD release in 2003 was titled, Greatest Hits: Volume
1, and was distributed completely free to fans old & new. The CD received airplay on the Lound & Local Radio Show hosted by Jolene (KISW 99.9 FM). Hippie Speedball has played the greater
Seattle area quite extensively and are working on a new CD, release date to be announced sometime in 2010.
