Referring to the age of a person. Same as Grown, but with emphasis.

My mother wants to know why I don't I call her anymore, because I'm a grown-ass man, thats why.

Grown ass 

Means the same as "grown", but "ass" is added to belittle the person or thing referenced. Usually used in reference to a "grown ass man". (Note: it is important to distinguish between a "grown ass man" and a "grown assman." The former is an adult male, whereas the latter is an adult male who likes asses.)

"Grown ass" is part of the "ass" family label of disrespect. Also included are "dumb ass" (see also: "stupid ass"), "lazy ass", "punk ass", "crazy ass", "cheap ass", and "broke ass".

"He should know better! He's a grown ass man!"
"So, you mean he's an adult."
"That's what I said--a grown ass man!"

When you call someone a grown ass, you're basically calling them a grown up and telling them they need to start acting like one.

A "grown ass man" will always put his kids and/or family's needs ahead of his own. He handles his business and has no need to refer to himself as a "grown ass man"

If someone calls themself a "grown ass man" it is most certainly because he is being a little bitch and not taking care of his responsibilities.

A man who appears physically to be grown. Whose age is of a adult but his actions are of a boy.

Signs of a grown ass boy:

Whining when he doesnt get his way.
Calling a woman out her name over a simple issue.
He wasn`t raised right.
Acts like a different person all the time.
Comes in late at night and expects you to not say nothing and hide your feelings.
