Ghost Ping
On Discord, a "Ghost Ping" is when someone mentions or direct message someone else, but delete the message before they can read it, leaving them with an empty notification.

When a large group are assigned to a big rush job, one or more quietly disappear.. only to suddenly appear for a short while, as though performing tasks involved in the project. NOT! They are slipping off to text or other private tasks of their own. They are.. 'ghosting the job'.

When a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they're dating, with zero warning or notice before hand. You'll mostly see them avoiding friend's phone calls, social media, and avoiding them in public.
