Infatuation, but over the internet. Deep feelings or a deep liking of someone you met online; most people tell themselves they love someone, but they are really only infatuated.

Immediate, low-grade infatuation with a person whom one has only encountered on the web. The most common causes of web-fatuation are seeing a friend of a friend on a social website, such as facebook, and being instantly smitten, without knowing any real information about that person's real life identity.
