Ezhava

Ezhava is a toddy tapper caste / community which lives in Southwestern part of India, known as Kerala. They were former untouchable caste and were seen as Avarnas / Dalits. The Ezhavas are known for practicing fraternal polyandry known as Pandavavicharam , and this was done to prevent excessive splitting of property since Ezhavas were patrilineal.
