The diplomats, also known as dipset, are a Harlem new york based group who previously signed to Rockefeller records but now are signed to their own label diplomat records. The group was founded by rappers Cameron and Jim Jones. The diplomats first became popular following Cameron's reemergence in 2002.

Dipset. The Diplomats, a Harlem NY based record label consisting of: Cam`ron, Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey, Juelz Santana, J.R. Writer, Hell Rell, 40 Cal, and Jha Jha.. Even though there shit might not ryhme/make sense more than half the time and "dipset" is said every other word.. it sure does flow nicely and is super fly. In refrence to the confusion of the meaning of the word Dipset, it is beleived that the word was thought of by taking the first 3 letters of Diplomats and adding set "those guys are a heavy set"

Dipset is a very interesting word. No one knows what the hell it means, all that is known is that the Diplomats say it so it must be cool. Harverd University did a study of the word and found that no one knew what it ment or how it came to be. Only the Diplomats know for sure, but it sure does sound cool, so we will let them say it, and besides if we asked to many questions Cam would pop a cap in our asses.
