The dark arts is vague term used to declare living in sin. Masterbation, substance abuse, witchcraft and many other sinful acts can be expressed without to much detail with the simple term “The Dark Arts”

To have a family history including any non-white, usually black, relationships that are secretive or unspoken.

Child: "How come my hair is curlier than cousin Stacy's."
Parent: "We don't talk about it, but your great-grandfather was known to dabble in the dark arts."

Friend: "You kinda look white, but like a bunch of other things. What are you?"
