Calvinism

A system of belief promoted by its author John Calvin based entirely on a Platonic evaluation of the letters of Paul of Tarsus. Calvin posited that Christ died for a very few people and then re-interpreted both the Old Testament and the New Testament with the idea of a predestined fate for every person as being among the elected minority or the damned majority. It does great violence to the New Testament by making it subject to a Pauline interpretation of the Old Testament. Also a totalitarian pseudo-Christian cult of the Puritan or Reformed variety. It denies free will and imposes the biblical law of Calvin's Institutes on all people.
Calvinism was the theology behind the police state run by Oliver Cromwell in the 1650s.

Chauvinism

Committing murder in broad daylight.

Named for Derek Chauvin, former Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd on May 25, 2020.
Derek Chauvin, in a brazen act of Chauvinism, knelt on George Floyd's neck for nearly nine and a half minutes while Floyd struggled to live, repeatedly gasping I can't breathe, until he died. Chauvin did so in public, as Darnella Frazier, a seventeen-year-old girl, recorded an unflinching video of the episode. Her video went viral, resulting in massive social unrest across America and was the pivotal piece of evidence in securing Chauvin's conviction for murder. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Carbon Chauvinism

Carbon chauvinism is a relatively new term meant to disparage the assumption that extraterrestrial life will resemble life on Earth. The term was used as early as 1973, when Carl Sagan described it and other human chauvinisms that limit imagination of possible extraterrestrial life.
Scientist 1: "All forms of terrestrial life must be carbon-based."

Scientist 2: "Dude, that's carbon chauvinism...silicone is a possible building block of life. Just look at breast implants."

Carlinism

The shared beliefs of George Carlin (1937-2008), one of the greatest human minds that ever lived. Carlin taught us that Republicans/Conservatives are full of shit, kids today are largely flawed, God doesn't exist and those who believe in most religion are assholes who kill people for no reason (His words, not mine.), and people in general are scared, weak, evil, manipulative, callous sacks of shit who sit around playing with their pricks until they die, and other such thoughts.
Churchgoer: Hey, I'm going to church, wanna come?

Carlinist: No thank you, I believe in Carlinism, now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go jack off.
