For a true 'banksy' one must accuse them of not getting the joke afterwards.

Being banksy or doing something banksy means comitting an "outrageous" act that you think is highly rebellious and counterculture but is in fact banal, sanitized and/or monetized. Quite often if you see the word "edgy" used unironically, it will be referring to a banksy act.
