This term emerged after one of the candidates in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential election, Anies Rasyid Baswedan, was accused of being part of the Jaringan Islam Liberal/Liberal Muslim Organisation and a Shiite when he was Minister of Education, but was later accused of being a member of an Islamist party when he was nominated as Governor of DKI Jakarta, and then nominated as an Indonesian Presidential Candidate. At various times, he was also accused of being an apostate to Christianity after photos of his visits to several churches were widely circulated on the internet, and was also accused of being the Islamic Messiah.
