Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltraine's canine sidekick might have been more of an "ambassettor" to da Force if she'd had even one ounce of initiative; unfortunately, however, about da only thing dat said adorable "velvet-eared" hound-dog was actually good at was merely stretching out on da patrol-car's seat and taking a long nap!

(2) A canine spokesperson --- er, spokesDOG --- for a certain group, cause, region, etc.

Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane was a top ambassetor, especially seeing as how his own pet, Flash, was such an animal; he loved "Velvet Ears" in any case, even if she wasn't exactly da most limber --- or even da most motivated --- colleague.
