Where the
jam is eaten in quantities so high and with such ferocity that Hartley’s, Bonne Maman and Wilkin & Sons year on year report the highest quantity of
jam eaten per person per
square mile than anywhere else on earth.
The IJSO (international
jam standards organisation) created a new metric unit of measurement called the Whitehaven. Much like Farads, a 1 Whitehaven is an enormous value. It is used to rank
jam per person per
square mile. Other towns are usually measured in tiny fractions of a whitehaven such as micro or pico whitehavens and have the measure
pW or mW.
Jam factories worldwide have a production per year that equates to 1 (one) GigaWhitehaven.
Any excess
jam in is shipped to Whitehaven where the good townspeople ramp up consumption ans not to let any go to waste. Afterwards a new measure is taken for the coming year.
There means there is always exactly as much jam across existing reserves and planned production to keep Whitehaven going for exactly one year financial year.
