An acronym for a phrase often used in short, connected communications, including email, SMS, forum postings, in-game chat, etc.

Bob: "WDYT?"
Pam: "I don't understand that webcronym - what does it mean"?
Bob: "What Do You Think?"
Pam: "IDK, that's why I'm asking you."
Bob: "Argh."

Noun: handle; label for web author's "pen name" i.e. someone who has a reason to stay anonymous.

Etymology: probably from Web + pseudonym

Locale: Bay Area

He posted under his webonym on forums and wikis, but some bloggers outed him as the original author of the piece.
