Vibe Scoping

In the age of AI 'vibe coding' tools being embrace by the software developer community; founders, CEOs, clients, product managers & producers have whole heartedly embrassed 'Vibe Scoping' at scale.

The subtly art of documenting nothing, making shit up & drowning the project team in a high frequency, flurry of emails mid project; thus parcing it off as part of the original project scope & sneaking it into the product back log at no cost. Causing the project team to implode as they all attempt to throw each other under the bus.

A long lost cousin to love boming, can also be called 'scope bombing'. Can apply to a range of industries including construction. These are all red flags.

SEE also 'vibe invoicing' the only known defense against 'vibe scoping'.
SOFTWARE INDUSTRY

Dev A (jnr dev) "Ken's just sent me an email full of new product features, it makes no sens. What do I do?"

Dev B (snr dev) "Oh, he's just making shit up. He's trying the ole vibe scoping mind trick on you. Pull out the scope doc as the source of truth & add it to the next phase. The PMs can cost it in & raise an invoice."

BUILDING INDUSTRY

Builder A "What do I do, the clients rattled of a range of random things for us to build. They want a lazy suzan and broiler in the middle of the spa bath? It's not in any of our plans, I think he is vibe scoping again"

Builer B 'Allg lad, we'll get the boss to vibe invoice them. We'll celebrate with that imported beer at arvo knock offs & send a note to his parole officer."

A slang term for GLP-1 medications(like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), usually referring to their appetite-killing, weight-loss, or “I forgot to eat” effects rather than the medical details.

Usage:
* Often casual, ironic, or meme-y
* Can imply effortless weight loss, suppressed hunger, or being “powered by pharmaceuticals”

Notes:
Not a brand name—just shorthand for the whole GLP-1 wave. Frequently shows up in online jokes, gym talk, and group chats where people pretend they’re *totally* doing it naturally.
