Vadim Blyat

Vadim Blyat is both the neighbor of and the archenemy of Boris Borisivich Borislav.

Vadim Blyat drills holes in his wall for presumably wall carpets, and steals Boris' Sosig. He is a western spy and never got on good terms with Boris. Cousin Anatoli doesn't seem affected by Vadim Blyat, as he probably lives in a different place. After Boris moved to Saint Petersburg, he stated that Vadim Blyat followed him from Estonia.
"VADIM BLYAT!" Yelled Boris when Vadim Blyat started drilling holes for carpet walls.

Vadim Blyat

It is an interjection that is used to yell at your neighbour who makes too much noise at every single time of the day.

Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
