Tsarpunk

a subgenre of fantasy that takes inspiration from the aesthetics, mythology, politics, social structures, and/or culture of historic Russia and the Slavic World, usually of the Tsarist era.

Tsarpunk was conceptualized by Leigh Bardugo to describe her Grishaverse books (which the Netflix series Shadow and Bone is based on), in particular the original trilogy.
it’s high fantasy, but not like Medieval Britain. it’s more like Russia and it seems more 18th or 19th century than medieval, so it’s Tsarpunk.
