The movie was scorned by parents for its dark themes and edgy material- The main villain, sings a song about lust, and the movie deals with issues like racism and religious hypocrisy. Many fans of the original novel also criticized the movie for changing the plot to make it more kid friendly. Regardless, the movie has great music, animation, and character development, and should not be missed.

Crunchy persons tend to be politically strongly left-leaning and may be additionally but not exclusively categorized as vegetarians, vegans, eco-tarians, conservationists, environmentalists, neo-hippies, tree huggers, nature enthusiasts, etc.

Also used to describe establishments where alternative foods and products are sold, i.e. natural food stores.
