Tharakan

Tharakan is an hereditary honorary title, often used as a last name. The Tharakan bloodline can trace their roots to early connections with the Maharaja, whom they assisted greatly in times of need. They are thought to be of a higher class and the general public respect their last name when announced. It is similar to the “Thakur” caste of north India.
