Sphynxster

Derogatory term used primarily in academia and the scientific community to describe an Egyptologist. Their track record of assumptions being proved inaccurate earned them this moniker and relegated the legacy of the cultural anthropologist as the 'weather guessers' of the dig site by colleagues who conduct actual science.
