Sawyerism

Any funny nickname that Sawyer from Lost gives to other characters. Every episode he seems to have a new one for each person
When he called Sun, Tokyo Rose, that was another fine example of a Sawyerism. Or when Charlie was called a babynapper, or Hurley a Stay Puff.

Sameerism

Truly ridiculous metaphors and similies that compare things that are, in truth, unrelated. In an attempt to sound intellectual, this will make the writer sound arrogant, pedantic, pretentious, and uneducated.

"The goals of the GOP are reminiscent of a shower curtain, see through and weak on homeland security."
"Did you come up with that Sameerism all by yourself...?"

Sagerism

When what you do is so much better than anything else and can't be competed with it is known as a Sagerism...
"You ball harder than anyone i know... it's like you've got Sagerism running through your veins..."

Hugh: "Hey Jeff, how was last night?"

Hugh (shaking his head): "Such a sameerism"

Purple Patch

To describe coming into something good, coming into good luck and or good times.

Like walking over small green hills in the countryside then coming across a purple patch of flowers, thus it being unique and out of the ordinary.
I hit a real purple patch.

The other day this good thing happened unexpectedly then I was lucky with this, it was unique, I hit a real purple patch.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
