often occurs when there is a large amount of work to be done, and you are slightly hungry - how better to waste time than bake yourself some fresh muffins/cookies/cake?!?!

The act of purposely delaying your annual baking of holiday treats due to lethargy, disillusionment or any general excuse.

Mother in Law on phone: "How's my daughter's Christmas baking coming along, she mentioned she was quite busy with it."
