Standard diagnostic technique. Involves removing power from a printer/workstation/server and reapplying it. This will usually clear most error conditions and allow one to resume normal operations. Also known as 'Buttoning it'
Customer: My computer froze when I started explorer...
Helpdesk: Did you try power cycling it?
Customer: Whuh?
Helpdesk: Turn it off, then back on
Customer: But I'll lose all my work!
Helpdesk: No splurgh...
