Pit Water

Water contained in an open pit mine or quarry. Often causes the destruction of an aquifer by the uncontrolled infiltration of groundwater into the mining pit, or quarry.
The "North Troy" quarry near Mill Creek, Oklahoma contains pit water, and is a waste of an otherwise valuable resource.
