Numenor was a heavy metal band that existed around 2004. They gained a huge following in and around Dunfermline, Scotland with the hit single 'Hold'. This song was fast paced but the lyrics suggested a slightly depressing life story was being told and so 'Numenor' can be used to describe someone who is still working a fast paced life but who is also, to some extent depressed.
1. Hey man, you're looking a little Numenor right now.
2. That girl over there seems a little Numenoretic.
3. I feel like i'm a little Numenored these days.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue?
