Nerd Signaling

Nerd signaling is the conspicuous expression of stereotypical skills or values held by nerds, done primarily with the intent of enhancing social standing among nerds; commonly used as a pejorative characterization to criticize what can be seen as empty, or superficial support, of nerd culture.
