A South African slang word meaning a guy who dresses and acts like a girl. It does not necessarily refer to all gay men but rather to those who display female tendencies i.e. drag queens and cross-dressers etc.
Hey Scott, was that a skirt I saw you wearing yesterday, and with your hair all done up? You looked like a moffie!!!

When a very masculine, stright guy has a crush on another stright guy. It is usually said in a joking manner, but the use of this word most often sends the two men into a state of denial, anger, and indignity. Which, I might add, is rather fun to watch.
"Hey David? What were you and Tyler doin' over there? If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a bit moffie for him, David."
"What?...No!...We were just...(general male stammering and muttering)...Were not!..."
