Malignant Capitalism
(noun)
A stage of capitalism in which the pursuit of profit and wealth accumulation becomes so extreme that it undermines democratic institutions, concentrates economic and political power in the hands of a small elite, and harms the long-term well-being of society. The term compares this form of capitalism to a malignant cancer: instead of supporting the larger body, it grows without meaningful limits, eventually damaging the very system that enabled its growth. Capitalism that has stopped serving society and has begun consuming it.
