A modern state of the world where organized crime (mafia) & authoritarianism are both on the rise as two separate phenomena.

With the North-Eastern klepto-autocratic regime waging a full-scale offensive war against one of its East-European neighboring states for several years, brutal crackdowns on Belarusian post-election protests in 2020, China's aggressive military drills near Taiwan signaling a potential war sometime in the future, the atrocious slaughter campaign against Iranian protesters committed by Iran’s security apparatus from late 2025 to early 2026, & the worldwide organized crime index increasing several years in a row, it's nothing short of mafthoritarianism today. The only necessary thing for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.

Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.
