The act of ignoring truths or uncomfortable facts for the sake of prepping up one's own agenda even if the facts stack up against it.

Cindy showed a great deal of malignorance on the topic of illegal immigration despite the truthful statitsics shown to her by her friend. As a result, she still voted for Hillary Clinton and thought "As long as it's real in my mind... It'll be all OK"

Oh how Cindy was wrong...

MALIGNORANCE

In discussing politics, climate change, technology innovations even COVID, there are those individuals who refuse to learn out of malice, it's an intentional ignorance where they cling to their ignorant beliefs because it conflicts with their self interest (economic, social or political). If they were being honest and open enough to learn, humble enough to accept being taught anything, they would easily understand and change their views - BUT - they maliciously cling to their ignorant belief, dig their heals in with an intellectual F U not because they don't really get it, they don't want to get it. Its intentional ignorance, maliciously ignoring a readily ascertainable truth to fight just to fight for a wrong deep down they know is wrong.

If Ignorance is Bliss, MALIGNORANCE is intellectual Hell. The Malignorant Oil Executive refused to accept that climate change was real and continued his companies investment in fossil fuels. -- or - Your Malignorance is shameful, you know COVID is real, you know it is killing people but your politics are a poison and you refuse to acknowledge truth.

I see this also as a portmaneau word consisting of malign and ignorant e,g, to use misinformation to denigrate someone or to ridicule something or someone based on a total disregard for the truth or facts. It can also imply malicious misuse or manipulation of the truth for personal gain.

Rick Perry's environmental advisers were unequivocably malignorant in their altered use of the scientists' presentation on climate change.
