The Literate Spam Guild (LSG) of GaiaOnline is the largest guild of purely literate members, although due to internet memes, mostly from 4chan, the literacy rate has gone down slightly. The Captain of this guild is Anthropomorphic Bean Cake, with Ythan II (After his main account was perma-banned) as the Vice Captain. It was established Monday, May 30, 2005 at 9:37 PM Central Time.

The term pertains to someone unable to use language correctly. The word implies that someone cannot spell, speak, form sentences, or in any way converse at a level at or equal to that of Republican vice-presidential candidates.
