"lamp posting" A term used to describe an internet user who will reply to a post they have no interest in, just to fulfil their urge to leave a mark on their surroundings, like a dog and a lamp post.

Posting insane over-analysis of something innocuous someone said or did to make them look bad; a form of schizoposting that unfairly targets a specific individual or group.

Originated in the new Unofficial Homestuck Discord Server as a response to the official Homestuck team claiming that an Easter egg involving a lamp post in the Unofficial Homestuck Collection was the creator subtextually admitting to being a sexual deviant.
