Korean War

War fought from 1950-1953, when the United States sent troops into North Korea to aid South Korea from its northern attackers. North Korea wanted to convert South Korea into a communist nation. The Norh Korean's were unsucessful due to the American forces being victorious in 1953. The whole war was fought to stop the spread of communism, and the United States did suceed in stoping the spread of communism into South Korea.
The Korean war was a major war in history.

Korean War

Basically, a war between two bitter rivals -- North Korea and South Korea. North Korea attacked South Korea, but with the help of the Americans South Korea was able to fend off the North Koreans. Then, the South Koreans attacked North Korea, but North Korea was able to fend off the South Koreans.
The Korean War technically had no winner.

Korean War

First War in the post war period that America couldn't win. In fact the Chinese Offensive caused to the US to conduct its longest retreat in its history.
Damn, the second Korean War started. I hope the Chinese will just sit back and let us set up a staging area across the border from them.

When someone named Dumb Josie makes a slap bet that during the Korean War, Korea invaded Japan, and then is proven wrong.

The Forgotten War America Lost
America lost the Korean War
A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
