puppy kitty

park jimin of bts. see also: puppykitty

the name is for him and only him.

this is a nickname he coined himself in 2019 during their season’s greetings 2020 making film.

originally written as 강양이, this nickname is a compound word in which 강 is from 강아지, meaning puppy, and 양 is from 고양이, meaning kitty. bts’ editors and graphics teams often refer to jimin as such and translates 강양이 as puppykitty for their international audience.

once introduced, fans very quickly attached to the word and added it to jimin’s extensive list of charming nicknames.

if you ever call anyone else puppykitty, do not be surprised when jungkook bites your ankles off in your sleep.
