A condition leading to the deficiency in the production of thyroid hormone.

Symptoms include fatigue, paleness, poor muscle tone, decreased sweating, possible weight gain, etc.

About three percent of the general population has hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism can limit peoples' lives drastically as it causes excessive tiredness.

the not your fault disease that causes you to gain weight, but to people who don't know, your just fat.

Anne had hypothyroidism which made her gain weight.skanks at her school talked about her when she walked down the hall thinking she couldn't hear them, but she could. Anne killed herself at age 12 weighing 110 pounds. (btw the skanks weighed 90)

hyperthyroidism  

not to be confused with hypothyroidism; causes a high metabolic rate which results in unexplained weight loss or inability to gain weight, inability to focus, and a number of other symptoms.

The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is Grave's, a genetically inherited disease.

hyperthyroidism 

a condition of the thyroid when it swells and does not act properly, typically you will act very skitsophrenic and yell for random reasons, also your eyes might turn red and swell until they pop out of your head and dangle by threads

I once knew this girl who had hyperthyroidism.
