Divine Empathy

A radical, mind-bending worldbuilding trope in the Abzuverse fanon that completely Flips the script on traditional relationships between humans and gods. Instead of a one-way street where fragile mortals mindlessly worship or beg a distant, unfeeling monarch for mercy, Divine Empathy introduces a bilateral, metabolic channel of mutual feeling and shared cosmic burden.
Because gods in this universe act as the actual underlying architecture for physical laws and natural ecosystems, they aren't immune to pain; when an ecosystem or civilization fractures, the deity embodying that system experiences intense, localized trauma. Divine Empathy occurs when humans break away from sentimental worship or violent rebellion and look upon the vast, weary consciousness of an ancient god with visceral, protective sorrow. It completely shatters the pedestal of absolute, unbothered power—rejecting the concept of an unaffected creator—and replaces it with a deeply tragic, beautiful bond of cosmic kinship and coexistence.
Person A: "Wait, so in this sci-fi mythos, the main characters don't want to overthrow the ancient gods?"
Person B: "Exactly, they operate on Divine Empathy. They realize that the deity holding their pocket dimension together is under constant, agonizing stress from the primordial chaos pressing in on it, so they work to protect that connection."
Person A: "Wow. That makes cosmic kinship feel way cooler than a generic rebellion story."

Divine Empathy

Divine Empathy is the absolute peak-philosophy core law of the Abzuverse that serves as a direct, uncompromising middle finger to the entire "Godkiller" genre of modern gaming and media. If you are expecting a standard, cliché power fantasy where the main character proves how "badass" they are by slaughtering an entire pantheon for achievements and loot, this concept completely flips the script.
Instead of treating deities as disposable final bosses or obstacle-course targets, Divine Empathy forces a reciprocal relationship of recognition, understanding, and shared vulnerability between mortals, gods, and nature. It states that gods are actual subjects with personal memories, family bonds, and cultural trauma. Crucially, it replaces the toxic "Anti-Kratos" mentality with a Theology of Resonance: a god's suffering isn't an isolated plot point; it acts as an ecological disaster. If you kill an agricultural deity, you don't "liberate" the world; you mechanically curdle the local atmospheric physics, destroying the soil and ruining the lives of innocent working-class spirits who depended on that frequency.
It doesn't mean the gods are innocent or that you have to worship them; it just demands accountability without automatic, species-wide extermination, proving that true heroism means repair and diplomacy, not collecting divine corpses.
"Man, I thought the protagonists were just going to hunt down the Babylonian gods like in God of War."
"Nah, bro, this universe runs on Divine Empathy. The gods have actual societies and families, and blowing up their frequency would literally destroy the local planetary ecosystem."

fache-couture

French slang, which translated, means "bull's fashion" but basically equates to "hyper trendy" or overly trendy. Used when a person wishes to express distaste at the latest fashion trend/fad, because it seems that everyone has a certain item of clothing or is wearing it. This term is most frequently heard in Paris but is slowly spreading to other parts of France.
1. That Burberry scarf is so fache-couture.
2. That purple American Apparel hoodie is so fache-couture.

A slang term for GLP-1 medications(like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), usually referring to their appetite-killing, weight-loss, or “I forgot to eat” effects rather than the medical details.

Usage:
* Often casual, ironic, or meme-y
* Can imply effortless weight loss, suppressed hunger, or being “powered by pharmaceuticals”

Notes:
Not a brand name—just shorthand for the whole GLP-1 wave. Frequently shows up in online jokes, gym talk, and group chats where people pretend they’re *totally* doing it naturally.
“I’m not dieting, I’m just on that glippy.”
“Ever since the glippy hit, food feels optional.”
“That summer body? Yeah, glippy assisted.”

Faux nostalgia. Faking old things in an attempt to recapture the feeling of times gone past, especially of technology that has passed.
Hipstamatic pictures, just like the vinyl-static added to digital recordings, is prime fauxstalgia
