derealization

A feeling caused by anxiety where places that should be familiar seem 'off' in some way. Derealisation (or derealization) extremely hard to describe to someone who has never experienced it before, although if you're here I imagine you're experiencing it right now. It's often described as like a veil has been put over you that dull all your senses and your surroundings, although personally I find it's like everything is too 'vivid'. It normally goes away completely by itself when whoever experiences when they stop thinking about it. See deperonalisation
"I'm experiencing derealization, but the worst part is that I had to put the american spelling"

Derealization

A state in which somebody is heavily convinced that their experience or current life is a dream or nightmare that they are forced to stay in. This strong delusion is usually caused by mental illness and triggered by mental illness or conspiracy. One can easily be convinced they are living a bad dream and hardly convinced that they are in real life and awake. These can last in episodes or long periods of time.
“I have accepted that my current life is a bad dream that i can’t wake up from unless i destruct myself. My legitimate body is probably in a coma somewhere. They say it is a case of derealization”*

*(example of defined delusion, if self-destruction is on your mind, reach out to a loved one or hotline as soon as possible.)
