Daytripper 

a person who lives far enough away from the nearest major city that traveling to the city has to be a planned event usually taking up a full day. They can be easily picked out in a crowd for the simple fact that they're the ones who act extra retarded thinking that it's the way people who actually live in the city act.

Daytripper 

A slightly derogatory term for the non-magically inclined. Falls in place with 'Mundane', the more common phrase. Someone with no metaphysical abilities or skills, one who deals solely in the world in daylight.
Some witches tend to look down on the daytrippers.

day tripper 

English slang for one who travels to a tourist site only for the day. A day trip might be to picnic in the countryside, or if you live in the country, to visit London by train. Used by the Beatles to denote a woman who is only having a brief affair, with no intention of getting serious.
She was a day tripper, a one-way ticket ....

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.
