Corporate Punk describes punk bands or punk
fashion brands created by corporate businesses that are more interested in making
money than spreading a message.
Corporate Punk bands attempt to
stay as apolitical as possible to be appealing to everyone. They make songs about empty anger, trying to put on a fake persona of anger without having any real opinions or thoughts in their songs. Corporate Punk bands may also be industry plants.
Corporate Punk fashion brands describes a brand making clothes with super cheap fabric and making the item super expensive. It's
extra corporate punk-ish if the item is made poorly to look DIY, but still costs 50$.
Synonyms for corporate punk include; industry plant (for bands),
poseur, poor mouth, and capitalist punk.
Marty: Dude, these clothes are made with such cheap fabric! Why are they so expensive?
David: It's Corporate Punk, Marty. It's just like that.
Marty: I guess that explains why it looks
like something the Tramp Stamps wore during their mall
goth phase
